I do not have a title for this book yet. The name on this chapter, however, is; Playgirl Bunny. This has been a fun and often times exasperating book the write but it is almost done. A few more chapters, and the final edit, then off to the publisher.
Playgirl Bunny
“I want feathers!” Miky said petulantly.
“No.” I answered, shifting to look over the headrest at him. “Its bad enough I have to wear nylons. No feathers.” I pointed a finger at him.
“How about fans?”
“No, that would mean we have to choreograph them in, and we don’t have time.” Bengy glared at Miky via the rearview mirror. The beamer thudded uncomfortably as we hit another pothole.
“Well, can’t we at least add some color? I look awful in dark colors.”
“We voted. Black or red, remember? God, you change your mind every five minutes, Miky. Just stick to the plan, okay?” Jay sighed and made a face.
“But you don’t have your cummerbund and bowties reserved yet.” He sent Jay a pouty look.
Jay ignored it and stared out the window. “Arrggg, you’re getting on my nerves. Just behave... for once.”
Miky huffed and crossed his arms over his chest as he sank back into his seat. How Jay had lived with him as long as he had, I will never know. Trisha had been the last straw. Miky’s transvestite boyfriend irked Jay something awful, and he had moved out after almost three years sharing an apartment with him. I had to admit, she irked me too. I couldn’t lay a defining finger on why... she was just abrading, and any amount of time with her left me feeling like I had been run across a cheese grater.
“We agreed elegant not garish, remember?” Benjy added as we pulled into the huge parking lot. This was the Goodwill to end all Goodwills. It was bigger than most Costcos, and always mobbed. I tried to avoid it after a transvestite picked a fight with me over a Mouton coat a few years back. Asshole had left me with a black eye. I loved that coat though, and wore it every winter.
“Yes, I remember,” Miky conceded sullenly as we all climbed from the car.
Miky’s heels clicked solidly across the pavement, and I had to admit, with his very tight jeans he had better legs than most girls. If I wasn’t careful he was going to show me up on stage, and I couldn’t allow that.
Once we cleared the automatic doors, Miky grabbed my hand and dragged me into the throng of racks and people. I glanced over my shoulder and threw a help me look at Benjy and Jay. They simply waved and headed in the opposite direction. Bastards.
Thankfully, Miky steered me directly to the women’s lingerie. His face was heavy in concentration as he flew through the rack.
“Ah...” He threw me a black baby-doll teddy and I threw it back.
“Wrong. When was the last time you saw Victor , Victoria ? Top hat, bustier, bowtie.” I began flitting through the opposite rack. It was mostly robes, and I began thinking a black satin robe wouldn’t be a bad thing to have for backstage. I pulled out a full length beauty and slid it on over my t-shirt. It was too tight in the shoulders so I kept thumbing into the plus sizes. Whoa. This was cool. I slipped on the heavy black satin and lifted my arms so the butterfly sleeves hung down.
“I want that...”
I grinned maliciously. “Too bad.”
Miky frowned. “Bitch.”
I turned and the fabric swirled before settling around my feet. Jeez, An Amazon must have owned it. This was definitely going home with me. Maybe I’d be nice and give it to Miky after the performance... I rather liked it though, so probably not.
“What about these?”
I glanced up. Ugh. “They’re pink and they’re bunny costumes.”
